An integral part of the club’s activities is the increasingly-popular Coach Education Programme which is officially approved by
the Football Association.
The scheme is designed to give coaches at all levels the necessary qualifications to
develop their careers. It may be a parent or schoolteacher who simply wants a basic understanding of the game or a coach keen
to progress through the ranks to an advanced level.
It is only by embracing modern coaching methods that Bolton Wanderers have become

Jack Trainer is the man with overall charge for delivering the Coach Education
Programme at Bolton Wanderers.It is a role for which he is ideally suited with a wealth of experience in
developing football talent.
After a playing career that saw him appear for clubs from six different countries,
Jack turned to coaching and it is now almost 20 years since he obtained his UEFA ‘A’ coaching licence.
Acknowledged as one of the most highly qualified FA coaches in the game, part of
Jack’s brief is to ensure that Bolton remain at the forefront of the advances in coaching techniques.
He leads a highly-motivated team, all of whom are experts in the field of coaching

Promote and establish working relationships and high standards of behaviour with
players, coaches, parents and officials.
Achieve an awareness of the related aspects regarding football including:

use of practices and small sided games

•plan, conduct and evaluate a series of coaching sessions in a progressive manner.

Candidates have the opportunity to observe Bolton Wanderers ‘A’ Licence Coaches
including specialist goal keeping coaches,working with Bolton Wanderers Elite Academy Players. This is an exclusive
opportunity for Bolton Wanderers to support your training which other providers cannot offer. This means that their pass rates are
substantially higher than other providers.
level three certificate in coaching football (UEFA 'B' LICENCE)
A newly re-vamped course providing an introduction to Coaches and Managers working
with players 15+. Candidates should already be coaching with these age groups.

•develop an ability to analyse performance through match analysis
•plan and prepare coaching sessions relating to team strategy
The successful candidate will be accredited and certificated as a UEFA ‘B’ Licence
